Apologies for reviving this old thread, but I’d like to give my two cents. It has been quite the adventure of exploring new drinks while staying indoors. Can't wait to see what everyone else was sipping on during these unprecedented times. But, while it was fun experimenting with drinks at home during the lockdown, I'm thrilled that the COVID restrictions have finally been lifted. Now I can happily head out and enjoy drinks and pub food near me! It's such a relief to be able to socialize and savor the atmosphere of our favorite local spots again. Cheers to good times ahead!
We had a Waterford masterclass last October at the Whiskybase Gathering in Rotterdam. Some amazing 'new make' and almost whiskies were tasted. If you get the chance to try some, by all means do.
I was unable to get a bottle of the third whisky that was released with these two. That one is only available in Ireland it seems. Couldn't find it online anywhere.
Funny thing about the two bottles that I did get is that almost every site that I found offering them was in Germany. Irritatingly, a majority of them only deliver within Germany. Oh well, all's well that ends well 😀
Usually it's vodka, but I've been polishing off my absinthe, port, gin, bourbon, wine, etc. Trying to clear my liquor cabinet to add more exciting stuff. Will try and make my own bitters and liqueur with kumquats if I have time in the next few weeks.
Good on you dude! We have also been drinking a lot of tea. I made a couple liters of fresh mint/ginger/lime tea and stuck it in the fridge. We went thru the first liter on Saturday. Very tasty indeed.

On the whisky front, I have recently taken delivery of several very fine bottles
The 2020 Laphroaig Cairdeas Port and Wine.

I was also lucky enough to score some Bimber Single cask bottlings
These will go nicely with the Bimber Distillery only releases that I managed to get a few months back.
Now I just need a place to put it all!
I will be making a couple of liters for our annual street party tomorrow.
Served with appropriate social distancing of course 😉
gin + tonic + lime

I’ve never tried any but I know several people who own Kiss wine
So that’s what Chris Difford is doing now, rating cocktails....

The kitchen slave (moi!) needs a night off. We have ordered a 3 course meal from one of the local eateries.
Our cocktail will be
To go with the main (veal cheeks), I have chosen a nice Pinot Noir from NZ.
We know the marketing manager and visited when we were in NZ a few years back.
Have a nice weekend 😀

Loose Ceylon Tea - Ahmad London. 36 years of sobriety. Not giving it up because I am grounded. Better than house arrest.
Today's cocktail. (Yes, I do have all of those things in house. You don't?) Isolation not deprivation!😀
