When discussing Bill’s early 80s output, I always see people mention tracks like “Flaming Desire” or “Do You Dream In Colour” as highlights of this period (and rightly so). However, I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone mention “Tender Is The Night” from the Chimera mini-album (or Vistamix here in the US), and in my opinion it’s one of Bill’s best-ever songs. The funky bass line, the way the synths and guitars lock together, and Bill’s expressive vocals all come together to make something extra special. Any other fans of this track?

It's one of the greatest 80s tracks I've discovered recently. Wish I'd found it earlier though. Although Bill does a great job of playing bass on it, I wish he'd persuaded Mick Karn to play on it instead, like he did on Glow World. As I commented below, I think Bill is trying really hard to sound like Mick, but it's impossible of course. Mick would be more slippery, whereas Bill's playing is very exact, which is good in a way.
