Just watched a BBC 'Hard Talk' episode with artist Peter Blake being put under the spotlight. I had the honour of meeting Peter on two occasions and conversing with him. The first time was at Leeds University when he had a small exhibition of his work, presented in the annexe to the Clothworker's Hall.
The second time was when we met at the Mojo Magazine Awards ceremony in London, where I presented Duane Eddy with the Mojo 'Icon' award.
Peter is now 90 years old and still active creatively, a man with whom I feel a great affinity. He's a wonderful person to talk with, full of fabulous anecdotes, and whose eyes sparkle with intellectual interest and youthful curiosity, an absolute joy to be around. I consider myself very fortunate to have spoken with him on those occasions.
