Hello,
I've been thoroughly enjoying the Be Bop box set re-issues from Cherry Red. I noticed they have a link on the contacts page to suggest future releases and I'd love to see the Red Noise album get the full treatment. There was definitely some live recordings as the expanded remastered version showed us...surely there's more in the vault.
so...if you're like me, trundle over to the Cherry Red website and request a Red Noise re-issue.
best
Dick
I spoke a few times with Bill about a video that was made for the Revolt into Style single Bill told me it was made in London and involved mannequins ? In basements I think if my memory serves me right. Doubt this will make the box set and will probably never see the light of day but that would definitely be a suprise !!
Can't wait to get this set and looking forward to any photos that will be in there.

The, Whistle test Red Noise set,..Perhaps?
Yes, a live RN concert and then all the other items collected into one box. Great. I want to say that there are Red Noise singles on a couple of BN albums sprinkled here and there.
It might be worth it for the photographs alone.
I'm hoping that the BBC radio recording of Red Noise at the Sheffield City Hall is going to be in there.
cant bloody wait !
Roll on summer! This is the reissue I've been waiting for.
And let's not forget, Sound On Sound was a flick of the lightbulb switch and quite a big influence for a lot of musicians and bands of that time, much more so than gets credited...A uniquely exceptional album.
Thanks Bill, that all sounds very exciting. I always look forward to hearing your new material and I know you don’t like to look back, but Sound on Sound is such a unique and brilliant record. It still stands up 40 years on, in my view. So much energy and inventiveness. I can’t wait.
I've now completed an essay for the Red Noise box set which I'm sure you'll find interesting. My demo tapes for Sound-On-Sound will also be in the box, plus new mixes of three or four tracks from the RAK studio sessions which sound very good indeed. There will also be a track titled 'My Light' which was recorded as part of the SOS sessions but didn't get used on the original album as I felt it wasn't quite 'Red Noise' enough. It's an interesting track though and will appear in the box. There are a few more surprises planned so you'll have to wait and see when the set is officially announced but I think you won't be disappointed! 😉
Hi everyone. I recently contacted Esoteric about the reissue and received this (no other details, unfortunately) :
"Yes that’s ongoing, Stephen Tayler currently working on the audio— will be a summer release I believe"
I was informed just this week by Esoteric (on Facebook) that Red Noise is in the pipeline. I was told some time ago it would be a 2021 release. No details of full content.
A Red Noise Box Set would be a serious dream come true for me. Hopefully it works out for Esoteric.
As I've mentioned before, 'Quit Deaming' and 'Love That Whirls' are not controlled by myself or Cherry Red/Esoteric at this point in time, so their reissue status, with or without a luxury box set treatment, is not within my power to authorise. The Red Noise album is also controlled by other companies but Esoteric is planning to license the album as a luxury box set item in the near future, so watch this space!

Good news about Red Noise, also I would love Quit Dreaming as a box set! what a package that would make, its a different record label though not Warners ?
These box sets are for the ages for a Bill fan, love everything about them,
Cherry Red didn't acquire the Red Noise album, it's still owned by Warners I think, but Esoteric do have plans to license it from them so it will get the full treatment at some point in the future.
I believe that someone here was told by Cherry Red that Red Noise would get the treatment at some point.
Presumably they acquired the rights to all of the albums originally released by EMI.
If so, then there is plenty of bonus material around Drastic Plastic. All the unused studio tracks, plus BBC live video, plus Bill's home movies from the south of France.
I would personally welcome an expanded Live! In The Air Age, with a complete concert. Presumably complete shows were recorded - let's hope that the tapes still exist.
Hello Dick
Thanks for noting their suggestion box!
I just requested Live! In The Air Age in its original running order and packaged in a Japanese style 7" square mini-LP jacket...I can dream.
Thanks again
Henry
