For those of us who have loved and respected our parents it's a strange feeling when both are no longer there for us. My Mum passed away in 1986 aged 57, Dad in 2018 aged 91. I still have an odd feeling about outliving Mum. Both of my parents were good friends. Towards the end of his life we were distance carers for Dad, but I always felt that he there for us rather than the other way around.
From what you have said you were lucky enough to have kind, caring and considerate parents, just like me. All that we can do is to try to continue their legacy.
As regards possessions I still have many things of Dad's to go through. To do that seems invasive and I've been putting it off, but they are in a warm conservatory which means I have to act sooner rather than later.
Thank you for sharing such personal thoughts with us. What you have said has helped me and perhaps what I've said may help you in some small way. Whoever we are and whatever we do as people we are all vunerable. Kindness and supporting each other should be the way forward both now and in the future.
Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts and images. I can understand why your music touches me so much. It is because your sensitivity to life and emotion is so deep and this comes through as expression --You're not just making noises (once coloured red) but sowing sentiments.
What a great lady your mother seemed to be! And I know personally, your brother Ian was a very sweet and kind person. You were and are a very blessed man. May you continue to share those blessings with the world.
Thanks for sharing such personal thoughts and photos. I know how hard it must be for you just now. I can only hope it gives you a small measure of comfort to know how much you mean to all of us and the comfort we get from your music.

Thanks for sharing this, Bill. I am sure you will come out of this very hard
time, very well. It is such a sad time.
I can understand very well your sadness of loosing the last connection of
long ago. Memories that sometimes get mixed up with dreams. Such a loss of time. I hope your well and look forward to many years of music !
