Currently listening to JCC reading his autobiography "I Wanna Be Yours" -- all 15 hours of it! It's wonderful, by turns hilarious and moving, and always interesting. It was a happy surprise to hear (in Chapter 47!) about his experiences being the opening act for Be Bop Deluxe on tour in 1978. John speaks highly of Bill.

I saw him at Liverpool Empire on that tour I remember there were mutters in the audience as he came on stage again with the wade of notes in one hand and a pint in the other. He had hair that made the prog audience well groomed but after a couple of kung fuey chop suey chops the audience warmed to him and he has since then seemingly gone down well in Liverpool. Excellent night.
