Just stumbled onto this on a video description; it caught my attention.
Details?
The album Gone to Earth is a two-record set featuring one record of vocal songs and one consisting entirely of ambient instrumental tracks. Guest artists include Robert Fripp (who co-wrote three songs) and Bill Nelson. It was recorded in part at The Manor Studios in Oxfordshire, England, with producer Steve Nye. An early single CD pressing omits four of the instrumentals: "Silver Moon Over Sleeping Steeples", "Camp Fire: Coyote Country", "A Bird of Prey Vanishes Into a Bright Blue Cloudless Sky" and "Sunlight Seen Through Towering Trees". In 2003, the album was re-released in a double-disc format that mirrors the original vinyl release, and included three bonus remixes.
On the track Taking The Veil, from Gone To Earth, both Nelson and Fripp contributed their guitar magic. Many of us at the time hailed this, proclaiming, "Long may it continue!"
I wouldn't know that's Bill in there (somewhere), which is surprising. Fripp is obvious, unless they've all gone and tricked our ears. Tasty track !
One of the standouts from Gone To Earth, in an album of standouts, is Silver Moon and you can hear Bill's unmistakable acoustic guitar soloing all over it ...
