Went to a premium lumber place today. Bought some Nicaraguan rosewood, Sitka spruice, and some reclaimed redwood for a guitar build. :-D Looking forward to this.
This might be the first plectrum rethink in 100 years?
Maybe the second :) Have a look at these - http://snakepick.com/ There's a spiral which goes round your finger so they don't move and you can't drop them.
I bought a mixed pack a couple of years ago, but the plastic that they are made from is so bad - cheap, thin, not tactile - that I don't use them.
Haven't seen these ergonomic picks before...very interesting and potentially helpful to me with my athritic fingers. I also like the three pronged approach with three different thicknesses. These days I tend to favour heavier picks so these might be very good for me. I'll order one, (though the postage is more than twice what the pick costs!)
That's precisely why I ordered them. The arthritis in my fingers is definitely affecting my playing.
Heretofore, I've been using PickBoy pics. While not large enough for my taste, I can at least hold onto them and not drop them.
Looking forward to these. I also am favoring heavier pics these days.
BTW, I'm checking out 'hybrid picking'. People whose playing I admire use this technique. People like Bill Nelson and Darrel Higham. So far, it seems beyond my abilities. But, haven't given up yet.
Well, they turned out to be kind of a bust (for me). There is a through hole where you grab the pick. I prefer not to have something like that.
So far, there is no advantage to the Pick Boy Pos-A-Grip ones that I use. I also have and like V-Picks. But, using a V-Pick has a very particular sound. So, I usually switch off them when playing. Pick Boys seem to be the winner.
Thanks Alec. I just ordered a pair. 'Pod.
Curious to know how you get on with it. This might be the first plectrum rethink in 100 years?
I'll let you know.

What’s the verdict?
