When I saw Be Bop Deluxe for the second time in January 1976; (I think it was then), they were supported by Doctors of Madness. The gig was at The Hull City Hall and the support act got booed off. The lead singer on departing the stage had a few passing comments on Be Bop Deluxe. If I remember correctly he said something along the lines of 'get ready for Top of the Pops'. I ask if Bill or anyone else remembers the parting gesture? I didn't particularly like what they presented that day, and I have never listened to them since, until, that is sometime soon. I've managed to pick up a bargain priced second hand box set of their entire output. Will I like it?

Getting back to the initial post.I also attended the ' Sunburst Finish ' tour albeit at the Newcastle Mayfair, where DOM lasted about 4 songs in before leaving the stage as liquid refreshments flew towards them.
The gig was on the eve of Newcastle v Man City League Cup Final at Wembley.Over two thousand Geordies singing 'You'll Never Walk Alone ' before BBD hit the stage.Mr Nelson then proceeded to say he was a Leeds Utd fan!Not sure if it was true or just a gentle wind up. A great gig it was!
