There’s a fairly new record store about 40 minutes from me, and I visited for the first time about a month ago. I’ve been back a couple of times since, because each time (including the first) I’ve found some Bill albums I don’t already own. The owner said they bought a big CD collection recently from a woman whose husband had recently passed. He obviously had excellent taste, because in addition to all the BN there was a bunch of David Sylvian (which I also bought), King Crimson, No-Man, Yes, and other “progressive” music from the 70s to the present day.
I probably spent $200 over 3 or 4 separate trips, but considering what I got I think that was a steal! (I tried to post a pic, but it won’t let me, so I’ll list the BN I got below.)
Noise Candy box set
The Last of the Neon Cynics
Illuminated At Dusk
Fables and Dreamsongs
Modern Moods for Mighty Atoms
The Dreamshire Chronicles
Pedalscope
Transcorder
Old Haunts
Simplex
Live at Metropolis Studios
Nudity
Automatic (Channel Light Vessel)
Excellent Spirits (Channel Light Vessel)
Amazing, Simon. Noise Candy!
Wow, what an incredible haul! I'm super jealous of your Bill Nelson finds. It's amazing how you managed to score so many gems from that one record store. That's definitely a case of being in the right place at the right time. I've been on the hunt for some of those titles myself, especially the Noise Candy box set and Modern Moods for Mighty Atoms. I'm really envious! It's great that you were able to do my homework and discover a new record store too – definitely worth the drive.
Just out of curiousity, where is this shop located?
You did well there Simon….Channel Light Vessel is a great band - very fine, especially Excellent Spirits which is what it is!
