I wish there was some way of buying Mr. Nelson's back catalog CD's without being raped by greedy merchants. I don't want downloads. I don't do downloads. I want that physical CD in my hands just the way that it was originally released and presented to his fans by Bill Nelson. I am Old School - I do not want my music collection resting in some dubious hard drive somewhere or burned to a CD-R. 500 print run - I get that (but I don't like it). Example: Roughly $200.00 (incudes tax and shipping to the U.S.) for a Near Mint copy of "Perfect Monsters" that was released in 2016? And a physical CD copy of the lovely "Custom Deluxe" - good luck finding a Near Mint copy without paying a greedy merchant's "fair" price. I know, I know - supply and demand. I just want to own CD's of Bill Nelson's exquisite musical output. Thank God I was in the loop and pre-ordered a copy of "The Jewel" (fantastic album) from Burning Shed when it first posted - check out prices now on the Internet for that 500 CD print run delicacy. I want them all - in Near Mint condition or something close to that. Yes, I am an anal retentive music collecting completist for Bill Nelson's music - I just wish I'd been in the loop about 10-15 years ago. Unfortunately I was in the dark until about a year ago that Bill Nelson had such an abundant solo career. Playing catch up now. It is very costly. How about Esoteric re-releasing some of these out-of-print gems? "Noise Candy" is one of my music prized possessions. By the way, I've been avidly buying and collecting music that I want since 1971. I am an old fart.

I have an extra ”my secret studio vol 1” and a “clocks and dials” if they are missing from your collection 👍
Thanks mucho for the offer. That's very kind and considerate of you. Unfortunately I have those 2. I'm down to needing an elusive 11 titles (not counting the CD-R/digital releases). The hunt is fun but I may never find Near Mint (or a grade close to that) copies of these 11 titles - who can say. I do have price limitations on what I'm willing to pay. I have to. Thanks again for your offer!
@Phillip Lasley what are the elusive eleven Phillip?

I am the same as you Phillip but it is New Northern Dream I really would like a copy of, having to make do with a download just isn't the same but the discogs snippers and e-bay thieves don't give you a chance. Just one copy around at the moment £115.00!!!! on discogs Maybe one day hey Phil
I'm afraid that making physical CDs of out of print albums is just not financially viable for me. It costs more to manufacture and store them than I get in actual sales, so, unfortunately, downloads are the only possible way to reissue my older albums. I too, prefer the physical CD, but the reality of manufacturing re-releases outweighs the number of sales and I'd simply end up out of pocket. Remember, when we did press up more copiers, either 1,000 print runs or more, I was left with lots of unsold stock on my hands, which was costing me more than it was worth. For people catching up with my output, digital downloads offer the best solution. At least that's better than not being able to catch up or hear the music at all...
This is of course all sad, as I took my physical BN collection in to Silver Platters Seattle, as I was on the cash poor side [Covid layoff, etc]. I wanted folks to enjoy the songs as I have. One of the clerks bought the books, and as many of the titles as he could. He was in Heaven (but alas, no Maid). OOps, wrong joke for this timeline.
Hope you're ok Quinault, it's a tough world out there for many people at the minute.
I presume you ripped all your Bill Nelson CD's before letting them go, so you still have all that wonderful music to listen to, and that's all that really matters, on that front.
Remember, it's not what sparkling jewels you hold in your hands, or have on your shelf, that matters, it's what sparkling jewels that light up your heart and soul, that's what really counts..🙂
Stay in there, things will get better.
Thank you. I have documented that I have transferred BN Music to data sticks / zip drives and have them in the car, for all Bill all the time, on most days. I did the same on some mix cd's, but my car does not play cd's anymore.
I think the song that suits this situation is: Real Men With Ray Guns.
👍
Sorry, Quinault. I’m going through a Covid lay-off too. I was happy to get Bill’s ’Falling Leaves’ cd with that extra $600 government cheese though. Let’s endure.
Same here! I only recently discovered how much music Bill had released...and is now unavailable (on CD at least...I’m Old School too!)...so I’m missing quite a few. eBay and Discog prices are crazy.
Just make sure you buy the remaining physical CDs from Burning Shed if you haven't already got them...because once they have gone, then it will be download only for those titles too!
Got them all. Didn't wait around. Great prices, too!
