Further delving into QDAGOTB Boxset
I was expecting Banal (extended mix) to be just that but it’s not. The excellent cd3SWT mix is 4.14 long but not on cd2. Considering the length of cd2 perhaps an unfortunate compromise was made. Anyone agree…any thoughts?

You are correct - the version titled 'extended mix' is the same as the original version. The Steven W Tyler remixed version is the extended version that was used on the 12" single (it basically has another, "I know You, You know me..." bit just before the end guitar solo).
I'm guessing that they got the master tape 'versions' mixed up somehow???
