Just been watching an episode of Pop Quest (UK music quiz show) and they have a feature on setting up gear for the Modern music gig at the Hamersmith odeon with chats from tour manager Robbie Wilson and promoter Harvey Goldsmith and at the end the contestants are asked questions then they play an excerpt of Kiss of Light
I'm going to try and get it on youtube if that's ok with Bill
I think it's a small typo and hotbroooks is referring to the music TV series 'Star Rider' from 1977 that features a performance from BBD:-

From which this poorly recorded clip is taken:-

It would indeed be incredible if someone, somewhere, were to find a decent recording of that program; such as you have found with your video of 'Pop Quest'. But alas, I think the chance of that happening after all these years is tiny, to none!
What is star Raider?
If only someone could find that lost concert footage on Star Raider. Anyone???
I remember seeing that Be Bop clip at the time, in fact I watched Pop Quest every week as they often featured music that you would rarely get to see on TV. I remember the did a feature with Godley and Crème highlighting the Gizmo plus they showed a clip from the Zeppelin movie The Song Remains the Same that was recently out (Black Dog) and also a segment of the Genesis In Concert movie (I Know What I Like) when that was out. These were all important artists to me at the time and was a must see show in that hour and a half of TV you would catch having got home from school and before the 5.45 news bulletin when command of the TV passed to my dad. Thanks for putting this up - it has stirred quite a few memories.
Such enthusiastic and animated quiz contestants 😅
Cool video - brings back lots of memories of seeing bands back in the 70s. It was also nice to see Sally James again, the quiz mistress and narrator. Later of Tiswas fame. I had many a lustful teenage fantasy of Sally! 😍
Amazing! I had no idea that this existed! Nice to see members of our crew again, especially Robbie Wilson who was 'crew boss' on our tours. Also caught a quick glimpse of Mike Dolan who managed Be Bop... (a bit of a 'con man' in many ways.) And the 'Kiss Of Light' clip is fascinating too. How weird to see this after all these years. Oh, yes, Harvey Goldsmith...he wouldn't have dared tell us how to play! It's funny, he was managing Jeff Beck a few years ago and I met him at the Classic Rock awards. I reminded him of his days promoting Be Bop concerts and he was very aloof about it, muttering "yes, yes, yes," in a highly sarcastic and irritable tome of voice. Funnily enough, Jeff sacked him not long after.
Great stuff!...I can't remember having seen this before, it's like long lost footage being found and, taking age and some degree of generational degradation into account, it's pretty damn good quality video...Really great to see the rig and gear set up and listening to the run down, stat's and logistics involved.
I think this is pretty important footage for the Be Bop Deluxe archives..
Really enjoyed it, thanks for the upload Bill Connor-Clark.😎
Had to smile a little when Harvey Goldsmith said "We decide where they're gonna play, when they're gonna play, how they're gonna to play" (yeah, right Harvey).

Not the full show just the Be Bop section
As mentioned above, I have no jurisdiction over TV shows that feature either myself or Be Bop Deluxe, so I'm not in a legal position to give consent or otherwise. I haven't ever seen the programme, though I have to admit to being curious about it. But, whether an ITV or a BBC broadcast, there may be copyright issues. Having said that, lots of people post clips from TV shows on youtube and seem to get away with it.
It was an ITV program. if it will be an issue i can leave it alone
I don't have any recordings of the programmes mentioned above and actually have never heard them. If they were originally BBC broadcasts, the BBC may have archived them and, if so, the copyright would obviously reside with the BBC. If any fans have copies of the broadcasts you might get away with putting them on youtube, but I can't really say for certain as they don't lie within 'my own domain' as it were.
This was the TV program that got me started on the path of following Be-Bop and then BN since I watched it around October 1976. I'd love to see it again after all these years, if you can put it on youtube Bill, that would be amazing!
Did you find yourself watching old tapes during lockdown? It's ironic that it's only in these strange and sad times that we've found ourselves with some time to do those things we've been meaning to get round to for so long! A number of musicians seem to be doing the same thing and coming up with long lost recordings they'd forgotten about.
