My super deluxe version of Drastic Plastic has landed. I have managed to get the audio tracks from the DVDs; (discs 5 and 6), in a suitable format for adding to the CDs to form a 6 disc set for playing. All is okay except that I do not recognise a few of the tracks playing on the section, Be Bop Deluxe in The South of France - Bill Nelson's Home Movies Filmed Whilst Recording Drastic Plastic. I would ideally like to add titles to this section. Can anyone help? I have so far in order of play:
Her Presence in Flowers / Kid With Cowboy Tie / Tropicus / ? / To the Sea in Ships / On the Beach / V-Ghost / Over Ocean / Holiday Express / ? / ? / ?. Can anyone agree this and fill the gaps denoted by question marks? To be honest, Because I didn't recognise some of the tunes, I have used Shazam and I am just replicating what it has told me; (shameful)!
Here is the full track list to accompany the video...
Her Presence In Flowers - from Practically Wired
Kid With Cowboy Tie - from Practically Wired
Tropicus - from Chameleon
My Favourite Atom - from Magnificent Dream People
To The Sea In Ships - from Chameleon
On The Beach - from Chameleon
V-Ghost - from After The Satellite Sings
Over Ocean - from The Summer Of God's Piano
Holiday Express - from Noise Candy
Waltz At The End Of The World - from Magnificent Dream People
De Soto - from Wah-Wah Galaxy
Older Joe - from Whistling While The World Turns
Yes, I agreed to allow Esoteric to include the South Of France video on the DP box set in the hope that its soundtrack might spark the curiosity of old Be Bop fans who hadn't heard much of my solo recordings. I'd hoped that they would seek out the albums that the tracks came from and perhaps broaden their tastes a little. All of those tracks have been released on various solo albums, some of which are still available. I can't recall which ones I used for the video now but 'De Soto' was definitely the one used for part of the Jubilee party sequence and 'Older Joe' is used right at the end of the video, which adds a poignant, melancholy touch...
Well said!
A little late, but it would have been good to have included a list of the music played on this and where it (and similar) can be found. Might lead some Be-Bop nostalgists to discover the wonders of later Nelsonia.
'De Soto' is the track from WahWah Galaxy
My favourite atom = first ?
