There is the 3CD + DVD set and the 2CD set as before - July 17th. Looks marvellous...
I have wanted to buy the boxes all the way through these reissues but I really don't have £50 that I can spare. I haven't got any of the big-box versions. This Axe Victim set particularly has the two long awaited sets (first Peel Session and Decca tapes) that I would really really love to have. But, no, I just can't. I feel a bit bad even buying the 2CD set just now.
Perhaps a 'miscellaneous rarities' set could be released afterwards?
The postman has just delivered the box-set to me. Oh happy day!
Thanks for the postcard, Bill! :)
I got the shipping notice a couple of days ago. I am really curious about it. I definitely was not thrilled by the remaster of Modern Music. Didn't like how the vocals were mixed. Fortunately, I only bought the 2 cd version. (The extra live recordings have been around for years in one form or another.) I need to spend some time with Futurama before forming an opinion. Same with Sunburst Finish. Sitting on the shelf waiting for some dedicated listening. I guess that I will have to binge listen once Axe Victim arrives.
It's arrived, well at least the iTunes digital album has appeared today. Great to hear the rambling tones of John Peel in the Radio 1 sessions. 38 tracks included in total 🎸
I'm very much interested in a Red Noise box. Here's hoping there's one in the Esoteric pipeline.
No interest in Red Noise? 😮 Wow!
Well, that's a shame, maybe you should revisit it to see what you've missed and understand how it laid the foundations for some of my later work...😉
I finally decided to get this one. More for the Demos and extras. I also bought the deluxe Futurama and the 2cd Modern Music. Since I have high-quality versions of those live recordings already, I didn't sign up for the wait-list on this one. With Sunburst Finish already in-house, this will probably be the end of it. I am not a fan of the studio version of Drastic Plastic (the live show for that tour was one of the best BBD shows we saw!) and have no interest in Red Noise. Now, now! It is purely a matter of taste kids 😀 Who knows? Maybe the extras will sway me. Though I suspect they will be things that may be things that have been floating around for many years now. We'll see.
