Here is another album waiting for release in 2020. 'Memory Loft' features instrumentals with such titles as 'The Lanternist', 'Twilight Planetarium', 'Red Ray Beamer', 'Tinkerbell In Paradise' and 'Evening Slippers.' 14 tracks in all, it's one to look forward to next year.

I’m sure it will be a Fireball.

XL-5 or otherwise.

I had an XL5 as a young boy :) I'd go over to the park at the back of my house with my Dad, who would use the catapult to send the XL5 skywards. I remember that the astronaut wouls leave the XL5 and his parachute would open. This wasn't always the case with the XL5 though :(

Yup, I also had an XL5 like that - thought I remember it being the front part that detached from the rear, rather than the astronaut (Steve Zodiac!) coming out. But, yes, the parachute hardly ever worked.

I also had a yacht very like that, which was a lamp - there was a low-power light bulb inside the sail. The rear sail of the one in the pic is open at the bottom, and there is an electrical flex at bottom right, so I reckon that that's a lamp too.

Had a Supercar too, though not that one, and a bubble car.

Didn't have nasty cracks along the top of the wall, though.

Don't forget Bleep and Booster!!, my favourite as a young boy in the mid 60s.

I used to love Fireball XL5 as well.

  • Track 1 on the rear cover reads, 'Gentle Sprits Prevail'! I take it should be 'Gentle Spirits Prevail'. If not what is Sprit? A Spirit with one 'eye'
  • Here is a flyer for my 'AUDITORIA' album which features a shot of Wakefield's 'Regal' ABC Cinema from the 1950s. I performed on that stage as a schoolboy in my band 'The Cosmonauts' and later with 'Group 66' and 'The Gibson Trio,' (when my mother and father sat in the balcony to watch me play.) Back then it looked as grand and glamorous as it does in this photo' but now it's a sad ruin and looks as if demolition is on the cards. Such is life...
