Surely Bev Bevan is not underestimated? Certainly not within the business. But playing with a reformed Black Sabbath isn’t going to generate a lot of praise.

Interesting video (hence the three postings?) of Jeff as a normal, middle-class fellow just trying to get by. The only worry on his mind is getting to his hair dresser once a fortnight to keep his Sly Stone dandelion looking perfect. And not to be too critical but as a muso, you’d think he would know not to pretend to play where his guitar is inaudible or not even there.

Poor lip-synching is killing music!

The obvious one I'd say was Ringo but for my money it's Nick Mason.
Playing in a Floyd cover band I have come to realise just how good he actually is, the space between the beats, his feel....very under tated because he's not trying to solo and cram in every possible note...

I don't know whether the ex Smashing Pumpkins/Zwan drummer Jimmy Chamberlin would be classed as underrated but he's a cut above. Second only to Bonzo RIP

Any of the guys in the Ramones. Ever tried playing like that for an hour or so without missing a beat?

Agree about Ringo Starr and Nick Mason. Always sounded good. Oh, and Animal from the muppets. Not in Buddy's class, but close...

And on the subject of Buddy, this clip is quite extraordinary. Ed Shaughnessy is top notch but Buddy Rich.....Jeeez. The best drummer ever in my opinion.

Keith Moon, Carl Palmer, Phil Ehart (Kansas), Billy Cobham, Buddy Rich...

Josh Garza. Brilliant. Saw them in Cardiff a couple of years ago at the time of Ten Silver Drops (before Ben Curtis left). Garza set his drums up to the side and you couldn't take your eyes of him.

Clem Burke. Was reminded of how great a drummer he is when he backed up Hugh Cornwell.
