Hello Bill & All Nelsonians!
A Fairly truncated intro as not to bore the socks off of you!

I am John From Yorkshire UK, new in Town so to speak, although i did manage to lock myself out of my own account before Jon Wallinger helped me out! way back last year sometime. Thanks Jon

By no means new to the Muse of William Nelson, though and how?
My story i don't think unique but not far from..

Be Bop Deluxe Pre-Emi were booked in to our school back in 1974 for an end of school term hop 'End of Term Hop with Be-Bop'
Yes Bill came to us how lucky were we? (fill in the blanks...)
The first impression was Bill coming through the foyer of the school in his Mink coat draped over his shoulders fully greased back hair, grease painted face and black panda eyes
i got to smell the greasepaint! that is how close i got to be Bill that night! Ah! the smell of greasepaint..WONDERFUL!!

That Night We were treated to an 'Axe Victim' Set afterwards i sneaked back stage and got to chat to Bill for a few minutes and got his autograph, the rest is History!
Took in BBD On all their ensuing tours and Bills Solo Concerts Dr Caligari etc..

Met Bill again as a Red Noise Member years later at an album signing in Leeds where we got him in to our record shop for a signing session Happy Days he pack the tiny shop to it's rafters that day!

Followed Bill's career for the most part with a gap as big as a canyon in the middle!
Where i missed out on a LOT Of the rarer stuff..

I am still a Nelsonica Virgin Yes it's true i am a part time BN Afficianado! I Aim to put that right this September!

Oh and I Was also lucky enough to get a ticket for the JTA Album launch
When Bill mentioned the wah wah pedal in his summing up of JTA All i could think of was wah wah Galaxy No1 which is my 'up there' track so anything resembling that beauty
we are indeed in for a royal treat!!

Have met a good few of you guys at Leeds in October 2011 and look forward to meeting some of you again.. And new Faces too of course!

That Shop would be the PREMIER Record Shop of Leeds In The Seventies!
'SCENE & HEARD' Kirkgate, where Thomsons are right now!

Hi, puzzleoyster...I'm afraid that I can't recall that name...and it's a little unusual that a student studying to be a fine artist, (which was the end goal of the course I was on at Art School,) should end up teaching English and Drama, rather than Art, so perhaps it's not an art school connection.

Maybe she was studying at the Tech College next door to the Art College or was doing a teacher training course at Bretton College on the outskirts of Wakefield...(I played at Bretton College fairly often in the latter part of the psychedelic 1960s.) If she was at Bretton, she may well have been part of the Holy Ground scene at that time as it was based around Bretton's musically-inclined teacher-training students...so she might have known me via that connection. :?
