Recently, I've been heading back into vinylworld. Upon purchasing several titles on 180 gram vinyl, I have noticed that they do sound remarkably better than cd or mp3. I like physical product, and the enlarged artwork...in some cases, beautiful!

What vinyl record(s) on 180 or 200 (don't have any of these yet) gram would you like to see (or more importantly, hear) released??? This is including stuff that saw the light of day (in its first release) on cd.

Me: One Size Fits All - FZ and the Mothers of Invention
Some recent Bill release--Mazda K., Golden Melodies, Silvertone Fountains.
Obsolete Systems - Laurie Spiegel
A Richard H. Kirk solo compilation.
A Tom Verlaine compilation.
No Pussyfooting - Fripp/Eno (the 2 cd version w/ half speed and reversed mixes.
And some jazz stuff--Sam Rivers, Wes Montogmery, etc. (more research required).
:? 8) :?:

Hi Robbot,
ELPs Brain Salad Surgery was a masterpiece in design.
Check the ones for sale on EBAY.
Another nice one was Dazzle Ships and Architecture and Morality by OMD.
From album fronts UFO have to be up there also--I believe Hypgnosis did thier covers (Be worth you checking them out)
Ive got 3 matching white vinyl frames which hold up to triple albums and 12" singles. They are a great adition to the vinyl home !
On the subject of 12" singles, the band Catherine Wheel had some great ideas for covers.

See if you can get yer hands on a good carbon fibre brush, this will clean deeper into the grooves than the stylus will go and reduce any noise you may have.
I have yet to hear any CD player that will beat a decent turntable, I miss my Ariston RD90 !

I have two colored vinyl albums....one is Live in the Air Age on white vinyl, and the other is Are we Not Men (Devo) on blue vinyl. Both of them were also imported from England, and those two seemed to tolerate wear and tear better than other vinyls i was playing at the time. Was I imagining that or is there something n their manufacture that led to a more robust product?

There are different grades of vinyl. I have some audiophile pressings back home and the difference is very noticible, mobile fidelity if I remember right was the label.

Cool. I have never seen or heard of that DEVO album on blue vinyl. 8)

I have The Beatles 'White Album' on white viinyl and 'The Incredible Shrinking Dickies' on yellow...

I do not collect 180 or 200 gram stuff, but like the idea.

Anyone remember the laser etched stuff that was coming out? All I remeber was Split Enz 'True Colours' and some Styx record... Maybe 'Rocking The Paradise' or something like that

More than anything else: Johnny Thunders and the Heartbreakers' L.A.M.F.

and of course, all of Be Bop Deluxe's albums.
