I'll second the recommendation for The Ghost Writer. I loved the ending especially!

That was good, yes. We don't get to many films anymore here in Hooterville (they don't come here being the problem) . Managed to get dragged up to the city to see Charlize Theron in 'Young Adult' and were very pleased with her turn as a rude , arrogant young drunk ; ex-prom queen bitch whose life is unravelling.

This Must Be The Place was an enjoyable movie. Beautifully shot with lots for the film students to analyse

Starring Sean Penn as an ex-goth-rock star living comfortably but simply in Ireland along with his wife and weird dog. Penn's character I presume is physically loosely based on a mixture of Robert Smith and Ozzy Osbourne. He travels to New York for his father's funeral to find out that the father had a life long obsession with tracking down his tormentor back in Auschwitch. Penn's character decides to pick up the baton in the search for the old Nazi.

The film does not take itself too seriously and nor should you when watching it but I would recommend it as a solid film

well this is crackers! part Starship Troopers part Transformers it's
about 30% Battle and 70% Ship - a lot of the dialogue is very tongue
in cheek so it doesn't take itself too seriously but is worth seeing for the
unbelievable sight of a battleship doing a 3 point turn!
Liam Neeson is ok but underused and when he's on screen I tended to think
oh this is a Liam Neeson film, but then he only really crops up at the start & the end.
That bloke who was John Carter of Mars is the mainman but like that Sam Worthington
fella seems like some producers idea of an action man and is pretty limp and dopey,
but the FX are really loud and the spaceships are like Transformers designed by
acid heads but as for the aliens themselves, hmmm...

Finally got around to seeing The Diving Bell and the Butterfly. Very good.

Also watched The Resident, with Hilary Swank. Really, really rubbish.

Liked 'The Hunger Games' . Waiting for 'Prometeus' ...
