Where can I get the Sailor Bill cd that everyone is talking about?

At the moment you'd have to look on Ebay, unless there are any plans for a re-release.

I got one of the last few from Sound on Sound and I love it.

'Golden Melodies Of Tomorrow' is, (in my, admittedly, somewhat biased opinion,) an album which will continue to unfold and reveal itself over time. It contains some extremely detailed songs, perhaps non-linear in form but, like flowers unfolding in the sun, filled with nectar. Each listener plays a major part in this blossoming...the more frequently and thoughtfully you listen to the album, the more are its secrets revealed.

'Golden Melodies Of Tomorrow' functions, alongside 'The Alchemical Adventures Of Sailor Bill,' 'Model Village' and 'Songs Of The Blossom Tree Optimists,' as a personal homage to a kind of long-lost, romantic, utopian 'Englishness.'
Many of the songs on these albums attempt to capture an elusive, ancient spirit, a spirit of place inhabited by quiet ghosts unique to old Albion, an English Arcadia, an imaginary Eden that only exists in the gentle souls of artists and poets. It's quite artificial, dreamlike, ethereal, a figment of Faerie, a Midsummer Night's Dream...Beautiful, fragile and utterly, seductively, unreal.

I think that's why I love Sailor Bill so much, it brings back strong memories and conjures up images from my childhood, teens, and onwards.

I'm sure my memories are idealised, I remember endless long sunny days, which isn't really likely in the UK!

These are some of my absolute favourites of Bill's albums and I would suggest they are essential listening 8)

A cool cover and title. Missed that one.

Sadly, no longer available...........

This title pops up on eBay sometimes...... and sometimes at a reasonable starting price.

One just went on eBay (uk) for about 28 pounds. I don't know if that's reasonable or not -- I guess it depends what it's worth to you.

I know I heard the clips on this site a few years ago, and really wanted the CD just based on those...but by the time I could really afford it...poof. Gone.

This is one of the attribute's of Bill's music I like the most. Some of my favorite songs of Bills didn't "jump out" at me at first; I started enjoying them more and more with time, each time focussing on a different aspect of the music in the song. For me, Bill's best stuff grows on me with time.

'Golden Melodies' is possibly, despite stiff competition, my fave BN album of them all. I am pretty sure you will love it!

Well the clips sound good, and if it is better than Fancy Planets I can't wait! Speaking of "can't wait" when is "Joy Through Amplification" going to issue? (tap, tap, tap).
:D
