Can someone put me out of my misery (not in that way). Did Bill use this voice sample on one of his tracks? I was listening to 'Like Drawing Blood' by Gotye today and he uses the same cut-up on a track called 'Coming Back'. I could have sworn I'd heard it before. Coincidence?..or is Gotye a Bill Nelson fan?..

If I'm mistaken and Bill hasn't used that cut-up then disregard everything I just said

Yes, I have sampled that voice...quite a long time ago now...I think it was on 'Manipulating The Phonograph' (or a track very much like it.)

I knew it! Quite a coincidence then. Or maybe Gotye really is an admirer

Not being familiar with the name, I Googled 'Gotye' and discovered that he was born in 1980. Which means he wasn't even incarnated when I embarked on my Red Noise adventure, let alone Be Bop Deluxe... Which leads me to suspect he's totally unaware of my current music or my history.

So, unless my time machine, built from an old 1950s fridge, a wind-up record player, and a multitude of left-over Airfix-kit parts actually works...I suspect he's as ignorant of me as I am of him.

I always wondered why I always had spare bits after building my Airfix kits. Now where is that old fridge....... :)
