Finally reached me ! Heard it this morning on my way to work and must admit I was a bit lukewarm. On my home this evening, maybe my mind was clearer, but it ticked !!! I find it VERY good and I am so glad I bought it. My only comment that comes to mind at the moment, and this is NOT saying anything bad about it, is that this would be ideal as a two cd album, the second being instrumenal arrangements of the songs. It would sound something like an upbeat Model Village type of thing.

Cool stuff.

It ticks through the tick of time, Andre, I think, creeps through, snake-like.

Found myself singing this in the cloudy-blue rain today:

'Immortal and invisible
Every moment new
Every moment infinite
In this sky of Vishnu blue'

For me, Blossom Tree Optimists is like a literal breath of fresh air. It is the sound of Spring/Summer and in the title track one of my absolute favourite songs by Bill.

This album makes me happy.

I have no doubt Andre that this will have you hooked.

I think I need to sit down and enjoy 'Blossom Tree's' fresh air too. It's the perfect antidote to the screaming, semi-atonal, blast furnace of the 'Joy Through Amplification' album that has been so intensely occupying my every waking moment, (and sleeping ones,) these last couple of months. Once 'Joy' is finally finished, I'm steering for calmer waters.

Great Bill. Let it all out and then put the ship in the hand of the astral navigator with his string of stary pearls.

Felix1 puts it perfectly. I love the use of birds and bugs in the background of the songs. It's very relaxing. Takes me back to some very early Pink Floyd music though I cant remember at the moment the titles. Thik the song went ..."Misty morning whispering and gently stirring sounds"....

I find this one to be an instant classic. Kind of like, where has this been hiding all these years and how on Earth did Bill come up with it? On a stranger note, I'm almost intimidated by the breadth of emotion and, for lack of a better word, maturity. I shudder to think what other concoctions Bill is capable of coming up with! :)

'Maturity' is a very apt word to use in connection with the 'Blossom Tree Optimists' album. Glad you picked up on that. :D

By way of contrast, 'Joy Through Amplification' heads in the other direction.

That would be Grantchester Meadows by Pink Floyd. A true pyshedelic classic

It took about four bars into the first track to fall in love this collection on about every level.

And those Real Men have excelled themselves again!

Something magical about this album, MG. Just see the lyrics quoted by Alec further up the thread. So mature, yet youthful in it's fresh view of the world and the start of a day. Truly a new masterpiece.
