Welcome to Dreamsville Boomer !! Thanks for the post, very much enjoyed that. Just showing off pedals but sounds like a work in itself. I love Frizzel's guitar.

Thanks for posting that, Boomer.

Bill's playing is sublime...his use of delays, loops and other effects is as masterful as his harmonic sensibility. A wonderful little improvisation in its own right too, showing how relaxed and natural his inventiveness is...and the whole thing is extremely sophisticated and holds the attention. Even Bill seems a little dazzled by it all at the conclusion of the piece. :)

Even though I do have some ability with the instrument myself, I'm probably as mystified as any beginner when I watch Bill play. It's a 'how on earth does he do that' moment. Just wonderful.

Yes, thanks Boomer :D

He has such a distinctive sound, no matter what effects he uses and this is part of what separates the 'Greats' from the 'also -rans' in my opinion.

Sublime indeed 8)

Hi and welcome to Dreamsville Boomer.

Amazing video!...mesmerising really, I've just watched that through three times, wonderful stuff.

Don't you just wished you lived next door, and could pop round now and then and watch Bill do his stuff?..a little 5 min. improv and a nice cuppa..wouldn't that be amazing!?...

Well, me ears anyway, can clearly hear the similarities between Bill Frisell's and Bill Nelson's playing...my two favourite players.....both sublime..and very rare. :D 8) 8)

Absolutely. I feel that way watching you play, Bill. Like TIW, I find a lot of similarities between your playing and Bill Frisell's. I also agree that it's nice improvisation in it's own right. Even when he's 'mucking about' it still sounds sublime :D

That's very kind...and extremely flattering...but I'm afraid I'd be the humbler half of any Nelson-Frissell equation. Nevertheless, I like to think that, should we ever have an opportunity to record something together, I could just about fumble my way through to a useful contribution.

Bill, have you ever approached Bill Frisell, or indeed has he ever approached you, re the possibility of a musical collaboration?

I imagine such a project would produce something very special indeed!.. 8)
