I recently received mine and thought I might post some photos to tease, or tempt.

As a proud owner of the Noise Candy set as well, I can tell you this one surpasses that in overall design and construction and the booklet is a treasure also.

BUY IT NOW! - Trust me, you'll hate yourself if you miss this one!

P.S. Futurist Manifesto & Northern Dream are pretty essential too!

Wow. Suitably it's own universe.

Looks like a pipe organ's pipes in the photograph of the cool cat in the shades at grand piano.

Bill has never mentioned he had such a big organ - how does he keep his pipes from clogging up? Regular usage I presume

Yes; you really need to get a copy of this while you still can!

Listening to disc 3 has been interesting:

Banal
Living In My Limousine
The Real Adventure
Acceleration

I haven't been listening to pieces from this period in quite some time; years in fact.

Hearing them again took me right back to the day when they first came out. These really were consummate electro-pop wonders. Great stuff.

Speaking of electro-pop I'm still surprised that Do You Dream in Colour? was not a massive hit of some sort. It's just that classic.

One observation (and I hope it isn't taken as a criticism) the Be Bop Deluxe additions don't seem to have the same aural sparkle in the mastering that other selections in this set have. They seem a bit "flat" by comparison to the solo works. I'm sure the mastering/remastering for this collection has been discussed elsewhere in the forums.

But it's all good really (and I do have all the BBD works on CD and vinyl) ...... :)

Some time I will get around to sitting down with the wonderful book that comes with this package and read it properly instead of just looking at the pictures.

Yes...you really should...it contains some interesting insights into those 40 years celebrated by the boxed set. :)

It is, in fact, the modest, but perfectly formed, golden pipe organ of The Clothworkers Hall, at Leeds University's Faculty Of Music where Martin and I created those images, (probably familiar to those of you who attended 'The Art School Ascended On Vapours Of Roses' concert and exhibition in October of last year.
(Hmmm...Next time I play there I should really try to incorporate that instrument into my performance.)
