Oh, I'm still "waiting for Santa Claus" certainly. I mean, the book was slated for release 01 Sept, & now I'm being told it "should" be delivered the last few weeks of 2010. As it's being published by a house named Helter Skelter, all I can do is hope for the best...

Speaking as someone with a few years in book publishing, it looks like Helter Skelter is big on cranking out short-run titles rather than maintaining a proper backlist. We saw this happen with small Canadian presses in the 1990s, which were heavily underwritten by arts grants, & apparently assumed that only Canadians would buy 'em, so there was no effort to sell to the U.S. market much less license rights to a better-placed publisher. Just whomp off 1,000 copies, send 100 out gratis for review, sell what's left, then scratch the title from the website & never mention it again.

:?: The limited hard copies did come out. Aren't these suppose to be the second edition in paperback? Still no word if Bill's revisions were accepted though. If they haven't, then I will shoplift a copy, then return it, as I still haven't read it. Nobody in their right mind buys something that they already know is defective unless it's been marked-down. Way down. :|

I had no idea there were errors when I bought my hardback edition (I'd have probably bought it anyway). I think the hardback is published by Helter Skelter. Astro's right I think..the paperback is supposed to be a second edition with corrected errors.

Dar, It's 'Music In Dreamland' and not 'Diary of a Hyperdreamer'. But don't worry, Bill's hardly even in it.

There was a thread some time ago where people could enter their findings in terms of errors or irregularities. Bill then notified the author, but apparently never received a response. So considering that, I would say it does look bleak in terms of any corrections having been made. But it would be a nice surprise to see a new edition with minimal errors.

Mr M, have you read the hardback version? Bill is oddly portrayed as a pre-teen merchant seaman who returns to land merely to become a white van man. No mention of guitars or even a passing interest in music. Something wrong in the translation, I believe.
