Been a fan since the Faces. The best times for him were with the Faces and then his early solo stuff,if you think he's just about the crap he has dished out for chart success think again. And these stories about 'nobs',well it didn't seem to do George Best any harm having a tiddler!

Agreed, Captain. Rod was a force. First with The Jeff Beck Group, then at his very best with The Faces. But sadly he was over for me with his first banned single, Tonight's The Night. He still 'talked the talk' but veered from the walk. Saw him with The Faces and solo quite a few times. You didn't always know what you were going to get with them, but when they were on, it was the best show going in rock and roll.

It's a great pity that Rod left the world of music so early in his career......

and went over to The Crap Side.......... :P :P :P

Saw the Radio 2 in concert with Mr Stewart last night and, aside from 'Some Guys' which was terrible i thought it was a good listen. Will be buying my tickets for Leeds Arena next Friday. Also he's on the Alan Carr show tonight so will give it a look.If i reach 68 i hope i'm in as good a 'fettle'.
Must admit if i was now a young teenager i may not see him in the same light. The audience was a good mix, some young women and some young men i think, and a good mix of the older brigade probably with sticks and zimmers to stop them falling as they jigged about.Could you imagine if he'd done Sailing(so hate that bloody song) the older ones would have probably all toppled over together causing a major incident.Great entertainer our Rodney.Love it when the BEEB has to put out an apology because of bad language  TWICE! Then Jo Wiley apologised at the end...bless.
