Daniel Craig has sheepishly admitted that he doesn’t do his own stunts. But then again, neither does the Queen. Her husband, on the other hand, is well stunted.

There's no way anyone could parachute into that stadium, with all the wires criss-crossing it.

That and the fact that he wouldn’t have made it past the snipers.

do you watch WILFRED?

no...fill me in. What is Wilfred about?

i've actually wept during moments of the few episodes i've watched.... it's loosely based on an australian pilot show, about a young adult man dealing with severe PTSD/breakup with a girlfriend, i think... they shared a pet, dog - WILFRED. wilfred went with the girlfriend, and the now ex-boyfriend (harry potter - elijah wood) sees wilfred as a talking man/dog/friend (wearing a shaggy salt/pepper dog costume, but his face is exposed, so it's a variety of misanthropomorphic identity perhaps?) whilst everyone else sees wilfred as the mut-dog he is, albeit, loving, loyal companion. it's sort of the "other side" of ted? sorta... kinda... well, it's a stretch for me, in a sense? i'm a cat person, but grew up with a family dog. an english setter. he nipped me in the booby as a child that terrified me, so i'm rather shelled because i didn't HAVE them (boobies) then, and well now? crikey... i stay indoors, thank you

but, the show is a charmer... which i shall appreciate from my bubble, shed a few tears, meditate, mind-alter thought patterns to devoid the vivid memory of the childhood nightmare of a huge yellow dog charging down the sidewalk toward me knocking me down to my skreeching yelps for a superhero/anyone to save me/remove this beast creature atop me! yes, i dream in colour, and sorry for the extended version/stuff that creeps people out/unless they similate or are interested or empathize and wish the best of luck and psychotherapy that may include electroconvulsive treatment sessons.

i think you should watch it! my fav is the big bang theory, btw...

since we're on topic of britishness, i think the brits would appreciate BOTH shows in summary of my response to your question!

Thanks for the tip! I will be watching for it.

I knew those missile launchers were there for something other than a non-specific possible security risk!

Yes. I don't feel very good about that. Clearly overkill. I was walking down Kensington High Street a week before the Olympics and saw many police with machine guns. And even though they were relaxed and non-aggressive, I still didn’t feel comfortable with it.

Yeah fair point. Wishful thinking maybe

I can't believe they'd use them - in machine gun mode. I assume that they have a single shot mode as well.

First time I saw police in the UK with machine guns was at Heathrow, many years ago. A moment's thought tells you that they'd never use them in a crowded airport terminal building, because they'd cause - or add to - a massacre. No politician would want to be responsible for that.

Like you, I don't like seeing armed police on the street. And I am disturbed by the creeping militarisation of our everyday society. Of course they have a role to play in the Olympics - not least because private security screwed up - but the idea that's it's normal to have uniformed military on the streets, or parading through the streets, or that they are all automatically "heroes", is something that makes me fearful for our society.

Ok. Not on this day. :? http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article ... water.html

Yes... But why to the music from 'The Exorcist'...? Should have been more of a tribute to Peter Pan and The Great Ormond Street Hospital.

It was very freaky.

Starts with Glastonbury Tor the gateway to the underworld, right...? What happpens if you walk that path seven times?

Danny Boyle plugs 'Trainspotting' and 'Slumdog Millionare' two really upbeat, family films. :)

Still it was very entertaining.
