And just a few weeks ago there was bother about the idea of yet another drought. But thankfully, that fear has been satiated by some real hard numbers and herculean amounts of rain. As I mentioned before, it’s a complicated thing. But just to throw a bit of old fashioned superstitious nonsense into the mix, remember, 'be careful for what you wish for'.

Thankfully, not affected here other than very high winds whipping in off the north sea and heavy rain.

Plenty down South  We are in our standard 8 month rainy season.

Some major flooding in the Northeast today.
Took me 2 and a half hours to get home when it usually takes 20 minutes :|

I've never seen so much rain in all my life

Hailstones the size of golf balls damage car windscreens and bodies as storms hit Leicestershire

Check out the size of these hailstones :!:

Quote:
People trapped in their homes and cars took to Twitter to discuss what was happening. One called LL Cool A said: "1pm – its dark, there's thunder, there's lightning, there's rain, there's wind and there's hailstones the size of golf balls! #ImScared."

After the storm, he tweeted: "Was that just my area or did anyone in any other town or city think the world was about to end!?"

The AA said if all the panels of a car had been peppered by hail, it would be cheaper to replace the entire car than try to smooth out the dents – a process that could distort the roof.
