Here you go James. Happy xmas. Sorry that I didn't have time to find her some clothes. So you'll have to find a way to keep her warm. Hope you're up for it.

Well, as the ever-articulate Beavis would say .... "Boi-oi-oinnggg "

Sean William Scott I find can generally be relied upon for decent, if a little base entertainment.

I watched Hannah the other night and found it quite good, better than I was expecting. I thought I'd read a review that said it was boring.....I don't agree.

Blimey that's a nice photo of Winona isn't it?

Watched 'Kill List' the other day. Bit of a Wicker Man vibe going on with a strange, disturbing ending. I preferred Ben Wheatley's last feature 'Down Terrace' which was hilarious.

I have added it to my rental list purely on the basis of that description.

or rather Bore Horse neigh, Snore Horse!
this trots along at a terminal plod in a chocolate box land
of rosy cheeks and golden sunsets and most disappointing
of all there were NO Spielbergian torches shining in the darkness,
but I can only guess that is because torches hadn't yet been invented.
Still, at least the invisible aliens eating electricity movie tonight
can't be any worse surely?

Spielberg has pretty much sucked gaping ass since things like 'Schindler's List'
and the uber-tedious 'Band of Brothers' . Way overboard on the cloying, manipulative ,
sentimentality in almost everything he does. 'AI' was a rare exception .Producing
'Super 8' did little to change my mind .We saw the trailer for the horse movie and
I was very deeply moved to avoid it at all costs . :D

oh dear, style over substance, confusing plot all over the place,
starts with the word"shit" actually ends with the word "shit" and guess what?
it is.

saw a preview of this last night, good stuff though GC seems to not so
much act as just be in movies these days. Even at 2 hours and with not
a lot going on as well as mainly being about someone in a coma it still kept
Mrs HG and I entertained but it seems you don't have to do all that much
to win an Oscar if GC is up for best actor...

Ahoy!

just wanted to add to this thread a plug for an AMAZING Argentinian film called 'La Antena', by a brilliant director called Esteban Sapir. Think Metropolis meets Citizen Kane and you're somewhere near describing the peculiar, surreal wonder of this film. South American cinema is really very interesting at the moment...(although this was made in 2007 if memory serves.)

:D
