Here you go James. Happy xmas. Sorry that I didn't have time to find her some clothes. So you'll have to find a way to keep her warm. Hope you're up for it.

Doc, don't forget this is premised on having a time machine. Perhaps James wishes for a nineteen-year old Wynona? Remember, Ms Goddard is dust now and yet no one faults you for that , if I may say so, unusual fetish!

For some reason, I thought I'd posted this here already. Forgive me if it's a duplicate.

Really great video essay on The Golden Age Of The Car Chase: 1968-1985

This first entry covers the car chase scenes from Bullit (1968), The French Connection (1971) and The Seven-Ups (1973).

A common thread (other than the car chases) is that each of these films were produced by Philip D'Antoni. The last, The Seven-Ups was directed by him (and the only movie he ever directed).

Burn rubber.

Was able to get into a press screening of The Debt last night.

Stars: Helen Mirren, Sam Worthington, Ciarán Hinds, Jessica Chastain, Marton Csokas and Tom Wilkinson.

Directed by John Madden, who also did Mrs. Brown & Shakespeare In Love.

Quote:
The espionage thriller begins in 1997, as shocking news reaches retired Mossad secret agents Rachel (Helen Mirren) and Stefan (Tom Wilkinson) about their former colleague David (Ciarán Hinds). All three have been venerated for decades by their country because of the mission that they undertook back in 1966, when the trio (portrayed, respectively, by Jessica Chastain, Marton Csokas, and Sam Worthington) tracked down Nazi war criminal Vogel (Jesper Christensen) in East Berlin. The suspense builds in and across two different time periods, with startling action and surprising revelations.

Really good film, though if you can, try not to read anything about it. Seriously. I've seen a couple reviews that give away key plot points. I even took a sentence out of the above plot summary as it gave away something. What the hell where they thinking?

The suspense is terrific, the cast is spot-on. You might miss Helen Mirren through the middle of the film as events of the past play out, but she comes back to the fore in the last act.

Jesper Christensen gets a nod for the excellent job he does as the ex-Nazi. Chilling performance.

The film starts off in high-gear, and does a very good job of balancing action with dialogue-driven scenes.

Watched this last night, excellent!

Apparently William Friedkin did not seek permission to film the car chase scene in The French Connection, they just went out to do it!!!!

I'll do some more research, but when you look at the film, If it looks really hairy, then it actually was,

I'm not even sure about the woman with the pram, that might have been a real passerby
