Having seen previous posts re Guitar solos etc here's one for those lonely guys at the back

Pick your best "drumming" from Mr Nelsons vast tome

For Starters
Stage Whispers - Simon Fox
Revolt Into Style - Dave Mattacks
Another Day, Another Ray - Bil / Yuki / Preston

Cant rememeber who does the drumming on the last one (vinyl in loft somewhere)

Over to Yiou

Merv

For me personally it's got to be 'Swan song'. The whole song is a joy, a lovers paradise but the way Simon plays is fantastic, the milltary precision of his drumming intertwyning with the pure emotion of the lyrics is to me mindblowing.

Bill programmed the drums. Preston Heyman just added some percussion

I’d say Merv and Mick got it pretty spot on. Sure there are probably many examples but those are good enough for me. I don’t think Simon’s drumming was ever as slick again as on 'Futurama’. But I suppose, even though it is not Bill’s work per se, David Palmer must have been a 'great feel' drummer to have worked with.

I've always been picky regarding drummers and have worked with some terrific players since the Be Bop days, Dave Mattacks, Preston Hayman, Yuki Takahashi, David Palmer, Bob Shilling, Gavin Griffiths and, for the first time at Nelsonica this year, Steve Alexander, a great drummer who has played with some well known names, (people such as Jeff Beck, Boy George and Duran Duran.)
Steve is also the guy, (under the guise of 'Flashman,') who did the superb remix of Be Bop Deluxe's 'Heavenly Homes' track on the recent EMI compilation.

For Drums/Blisters look no further than one of my be Bop favourites "Love In Flames".

I always liked the drumming, especially the beginning of "The Passion. " Simple but very powerful. I think the guys name is Bogdan something or other.

One of my memories (which get fainter with time) from the only time I saw Be Bop live was how hard Simon Fox was hitting the drums...I thought they were going to fall apart!

Ah. An Ystradgynlais boy :D

He's a great drummer by all accounts. Don't let him pressure you into playing any Brother Beyond songs though, Bill
