Just watched a very welcome documentary about John Cooper Clarke. Lots of luminaries and celebs singing his praises, but no sign of Mr Bill! Why is it whenever something of cultural significance like this is aired he never gets a look in? It's not the first time and I'm sure it won't be the last.

Nevermind, still another commendation for BBC4.

Loved the Ziggy review in Classic Rock by the way but couldn't work out why 'Moonage Daydream' didn't find its way into the favourites list. Surely the Ronno solo should have pressed all the right buttons if nothing else.

Best not to expect me to crop up in those sorts of situations...To keep one's face and name in sight of the general public/press/television eye it's neccesary to grease palms and kiss backsides, (metaphorically, of course,) and cultivate powerful cronies in high places. None of which has ever been of any interest to me...

Had I been more inclined to pursue celebrity instead of music, things may have been different...but, to quote a familiar line from 'Gone With The Wind,' "Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn."

Actually, not so metaphorically most times. :(

I forgot to give credit for the quote.

Quote:
It is a takeoff by National Lampoon (1972) of the Max Ehrmann prose poem "Desiderata" (1927)

"Take heart in the deepening gloom that your dog is finally getting enough cheese."

From the same.
