I`ve had this album for just over a week now. Considering it`s only my second post Be Bop Deluxe purchase, I have to say that Bill`s music continues to enthrall.

I find that 'Fables And Dreamsongs' sounds particularly great when played loud.

'Machines Of Loving Grace' is the early favourite but I`m still getting to grips with the album. It seems that the more effort you put in to listen the more you are rewarded.

I`ve been reading through the old posts and diary entries and I`m now more confident about choosing future purchases(thanks again to everyone who made suggestions). I had to go for the latest release though to see where Bill was at in the present(although 'Fables And Dreamsongs' is a few months old now, I dare say Bill`s moved on like the musical astronaut he is!).

Anyway, I just wanted to share. Thank`s for the amazing music Bill, you have a new guaranteed fan for life :D :D :D

I'm completely with you on 'Machines Of Loving Grace', felixt1. Actually, I particularly like all the first three tracks and The Drawing Room.

Yes, I agree on all counts.

Also, the general production 'sound' is crystal clear as it is on any of the most recent stuff of Bill`s that I`ve heard. This is something I`d like to ask Bill about when he`s less busy!

Some sort of cosmic-jazz lounge........ I like it! :)

Wow

It is a year to the day since I wrote my initial post for this thread.

Since then I have played Fables And Dreamsongs many times and it has become a favourite among the many other favourites

I suppose most signifigantly, this album along with Illuminated At Dusk formed the soundtrack for last summer's family holiday which took in the sights of the Cairngorms and Glen Nevis.

I will play this album today in honour of the anniversary

Just ordered it, along with all -- or most -- of what I'm missing, via SOS. Another Bill Nelson avalanche heading my way.
