Tomorrow evening is the opening party for an art exhibition titled 'FLYPOSTING.' It is being held in the gallery on the top floor of up-market men's fashion store 'Flannels' in Leeds. I have five of my early hand-painted/drawn posters in the exhibition alongside many others dedicated to other artists/musicians. The opening is by invite only but the exhibition is open to the public from Sunday onwards for a few weeks. Those of you within easy distance of Leeds should check it out...there's some terrific work on show.
Here's a link to some independent info about the exhibition:

Cool stuff. Gassing up the Dream Car and charting a course for Leeds.

I was on the guest list for this exhibition............just spent a very lovely couple of hours with Bill and Emi. And Bill's posters looked fab, framed in an excellent gallery setting. There was a lot of interest from people wanting to buy them....in fact Bill's posters were the only ones NOT for sale on the evening. Most disappointing

Very nice evening with very pleasant company! Tony's 'Art Cowboys' band ripped the place up in fine fashion too! Almost wished I'd dragged a guitar and amp along to sit in with them. :D

Hope your after-party meal was better than our's though, Sue. We decided to eat at 'The Wardrobe' because it was on our route out of Leeds. We'd had a very enjoyable meal there some years ago when my dear friend Harold Budd performed in the live music venue in the basement of 'The Wardrobe,' when he toured with Jah Wobble's 'Solaris' band. (A most enjoyable night out.)
At that time the food there was excellent so Emi and I thought it would be a safe bet for us this evening.
We managed to park nearby and then spotted a new French Bistro-style eatery, almost next door, that looked very appetising. It was absolutely packed with customers and, when we entered and enquired about a table, we were told it wouldn't be possible to get anything until after 10 pm.

So, we continued to walk a few yards to The Wardrobe where we had no problem getting a table at all. There were lots of empty ones.

Unfortunately, the restaurant seemed to be under entirely different management and the menu bore no resemblance to our previous visit. It all felt a bit down-market and 'fast-food'. (Though not particularly inexpensive.)
Anyway, I ordered a plain burger, thinking that this would be a safe bet...but it was perhaps the worst burger I've ever eaten. Even a lowly McDonald's would have offered more flavour. Just awful.

Big mistake to go there, in hindsight. Of course, I should have realised beforehand, when there were so many empty tables and the majority of the clientele appeared to be 40 something drinkers on 'the pull', rather than diners. Staff were efficient and friendly but, unfortunately, the food was motorway service standard at best. Sorry, but not recommended!

I would think that photographic replicas of the posters could be arranged through Martin Bostock. In fact I would think that the whole 40 years of musical excellence should be glorified. The practice of everyday life, apprently included design work. Still does.

I hope that there were Barbarella themed costumes about.

Ok, maybe that is just me. :|

There were, if I may be so brazen as to inform you, several super-slinky art-babes in attendance, (though all far too young and gorgeous to have the slightest interest in an old hipster of my own well-weathered ilk.) Nevertheless, the window shopping was delightful, as were our equally delightful and deliciously delectable table companions!

Other than the hamburger, it sounds like it was a really fun time.

It must have been really cool seeing one of your early pieces all these years later at a gallery show. 8) 8) 8)

... our own little gallery show here in Dreamsville.
